Love the English language

The English are fantastic at inventing new words and phrases which seem to take off around the globe.  I noticed with interest in the Brownlow count that the Australian press often referred to WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) which of course has been doing the traps here in the UK for a few years with the likes of Victoria Beckham.Anyway, the one I heard today which I liked was “Chuggers” — Charity Muggers.  These are people who continually accost you on the street for money for various charities.  I’ve always just called them Greenpeace (that damn Koala).
