Pedestrians have priority

Another thing we have noticed while we have been in London is that pedestrians are very well respected by drivers. Most times if I am waiting to cross a road, the cars will stop and flash their lights, or the drivers will gesture for me to cross the road – even on busy streets! It’s very unfamiliar, and sometimes a nuisance because it takes ages to cross the road with 2 kids, a trolley and rain obscuring your vision. You feel as if you should rush as the driver has been so generous.I think that so many people walk everywhere in the inner city, that it is safer to let pedestrians pass. Will miss this priority treatment when we return home.
