Welcome to Day One, Wednesday 3rd August

I decided to create a blog to easily share the pictures of our renovation in progress. Here’s the house as it is before we started.

Day one: Jason is removing the existing deck. I was working from home and it happened in surprisingly quick time — 1 hour and the whole thing was gone.

With the deck gone, they quickly removed the barge boards around the bottom and began setting out. The strings are all at the height of the top of the joists. The builder is James, our master builder.
